The City Council approved four agreements Tuesday that advance the $1 billion downtown arena that will be the future home of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Oklahoma City celebrated the opening of the new OG&E Coliseum at the OKC Fairgrounds with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks from key leaders involved in the project. 

Guernsey will anchor the development with its new 63,221-square-foot headquarters. The project is located at NW 13th and Broadway at the intersection of Midtown, Automobile Alley and the Innovation District. 

Echo Investment Capital, Russell Westbrook Enterprises and Robinson Park have selected Populous as the master architect for a planned sports-centered entertainment district in downtown Oklahoma City. The project, led by Echo, will center on the MAPS 4 multipurpose stadium.

The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) has released its Quarter 1 2025 Cost of Living Index. 

BioTC, the state’s first biomanufacturing workforce training center, celebrated the completion of its first training cohort, held April 7-11. 

Oklahoma City ranked No. 1 lowest unemployment rate in April among the 56 U.S. metropolitan areas with a population of over 1 million, signaling strength in the local economy. The metro’s 2.3% unemployment rate was down from 3.0% in March.

Oklahoma ranked as the No. 4 easiest state in the country to save money, according to a new Bankrate study that looked at financial conditions across all 50 states.
