Oklahoma City lies at the center of what transit and business professionals call a growing 'megalopolis', serving as a center point to regional business hubs from San Antonio up through Kansas City. With planning for events such as the 2028 Olympics rounding the corner, the business and transit communities are gathering to discuss the kind of City they want to exhibit as Central Oklahoma is thrust into a global spotlight.

Professionals from the transit, transportation, military and defense sectors gathered from across the state on Sept. 1 for the annual State of the Region address to discuss Central Oklahoma's growing economy, while previewing priorities and planned investments looking forward.

Hosted by the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, the panels built on sentiments shared throughout Oklahoma City Mayor Holt's recent presentation at the annual State of the City address, pushing for increased investment in public transit initiatives to expand accessibility to Oklahoma's urban core, through projects such as the proposed ONE Transit commuter rail.
