Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber believes that creating dialogue about systemic racism and taking steps to combat it in our workplaces is vital to our city’s health and future. We believe that our diversity is a source of strength, and we want to see growth and shared prosperity through diverse workforces and a strong minority-owned business community.

The Chamber, through a partnership with the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City, is seeking to build a more inclusive and diverse corporate community in Oklahoma City through:

  • Initiating a business community conversation on anti-racism through our Creating a Culture of Inclusion event series.
  • Developing an annual research publication that tracks and reports on diversity and economic equality in Oklahoma City.
  • Establishing a diversity council of executives to examine the data and determine a strategy to make Oklahoma City a more diverse and inclusive place.
  • Creating leadership and mentorship programs to grow and invest in Oklahoma talent.
  • Increasing minority supplier development and minority employment.

Our partnership with the Urban League
The Chamber and the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City have combined their respective forces, partnerships and expertise to make Oklahoma City a diverse, socially conscious and socially aware community so that the region can continue to thrive.

Creating a Culture of Inclusion event series
The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Inc. and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber hosted this series to create stronger dialogue and engagement of the Oklahoma City business community around issues of social justice and anti-racism.

Inclusion at Work
As part of their partnership, the Chamber and the Urban League will bring together the leaders and managers of diversity programs in companies across the region to identify areas of collaboration and partnership through the Inclusion at Work program.
