2020 State of Schools 8/12/20
This year's keynote speaker was Jaime Casap, who served as the Chief Education Evangelist at Google for more than 14 years. Casap has worked with educational organizations around the world, helping them find ways to continuously improve the quality of education by utilizing and enabling technology capabilities.
In addition to Casap's address, a distinguished panel of K-12 and higher education leaders gave their insight to the future of education in Oklahoma. The K-12 panel discussed the 2019-20 school year and how they approached learning in response to the pandemic. The group also discussed how their districts plan to address the upcoming school year and how their approach to education might be adapted depending on the impact of COVID-19.

In November, the Oklahoma County Jail Trust selected a new administrator for the Oklahoma County Jail, changing the structure of management at the facility. Attendees heard how these changes will impact the Oklahoma County Jail and what additional changes are needed as Oklahoma County continues to tackle the issue of justice reform moving forward.

At this luncheon, attendees heard from expert economist Lawrence Chimerine. Ph.D., president of Radnor International Consulting. Dr. Chimerine will discuss the current economic and business situation in the United States. Attendees will also heard directly from an expert panel of local economists on trends in the local and regional economy.

State of the Schools 8/20/2014
Learn about efforts and ideas for reform to improve education in Oklahoma.
The new superintendent of the Oklahoma City School District, Robert Neu, spoke at the State of the Schools event, which addresses the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber's education initiatives as well as challenges at the Legislature, in classrooms and on campuses.
Also speaking is Mike Petrilli, executive vice president of the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, who focused on how Oklahoma City businesses can get more involved in education reform. Petrilli is a nationally recognized expert on educational policy and reform.

Larry Nichols, executive chairman of Devon Energy Corporation, and Klay Kimker, vice president of Administration, will share the nuts and bolts of "Building the Devon Energy Center" at the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber's Breaking Through luncheon.
Bringing together all the pieces and parts for a 1.8 million square foot, 50-story corporate tower is a monumental task. With construction in full-force from October 2009 to October 2012, Devon built their skyscraper quickly and safely.

Bioscience is one of Oklahoma City's fastest growing industries. Dr. Stephen Prescott, president of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, moderated a panel discussion on the research happening here and its potential impact to our health and economy.
Panelists include Dr. Kenneth Copeland, director of the pediatric program at the Harold Hamm Oklahoma Diabetes Center; Dr. Paul Kincade, vice president and Head of the Immunology and Cancer Program at OMRF; Dr. James Long, cardiothoracic surgeon at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center; and Dr. Scott Rollins, CEO and president of Selexys Pharmaceuticals.
This special event was held at the Research Tower of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, giving guests an opportunity to not only hear about current research but tour the facilities where scientists understand and develop more effective treatments for human disease.
Immigration Forum 3/29/12
While the national debate concerning illegal immigration draws a great deal of attention, the real need in the business community for smarter immigration policies that will positively impact economic development frequently goes unheard. At a special forum focusing on the topic, Richard Herman, author of "Immigrant, Inc." and a frequent speaker on this topic across the country gave a presentation on the economics of smarter immigration. He shared stories and facts about how immigrant entrepreneurs and investors help keep America competitive and discussed the limitations of the current U.S. immigration system.
Additionally, a panel of local business leaders talked about immigration and job creation in Oklahoma City.
Guests gained insight into an important, and often misunderstood business issue. Herman and the panelists covered topics including green cards for graduates with advanced degrees in STEM fields, improving the H-1B visa program and increasing the capacity to meet demand, creating a visa for entrepreneurs, and EB-5 Regional Centers under development.

The river and its corresponding development are having an incredible impact worldwide on both rowing and canoe/kayak, and are fast becoming a crown jewel in the community.
