Diversion programs making a difference
Oklahoma City is a city on the rise, and we want you to stay informed about its major successes, challenges and ways that the business community can stay involved.
The Chamber will continue its successful monthly Chamber Forum series from January through October 2022. The Chamber Forum series brings thought leaders together to discuss major initiatives, programs and current issues that impact Oklahoma City's business climate, economy and community.
The average inmate population at the Oklahoma County Jail has stayed at or below 1,700 people for well over two years, a downward trend after nearly two decades of populations being well above 2,000. A large reason for the sustained decline are the diversion programs that provide alternatives to formal sentencing. At the January Chamber Forum, hear from representatives of diversion programs on the work they do within the justice system and how diversion helps low-level, nonviolent offenders return to productive lives within our community. Confirmed speakers include:
Director of Diversion Services
TEEM - The Education & Employment Ministry
The Honorable Kenneth M. Stoner
Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Advisory Council
