Building a diverse talent pipeline
The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Inc. and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber continue their monthly series: Creating a Culture of Inclusion. The partnership is aimed at creating a stronger dialogue and engagement of the Oklahoma City business community around issues of social justice and anti-racism.
This event is the rescheduled session from March 23, however, please note that the topic and speakers have changed. If you registered for the March 23 event, your registration has been moved to this event. If you need a refund, please email register@okcchamber.com.
Hiring people from different backgrounds, genders, ages, experiences and nationalities offers an organization the opportunity to be more innovative and profitable. The June event will explore steps to creating a diverse candidate pool.
Companies without a diverse pipeline tend to continue hiring the same group of people, thus hampering their growth and progression. In fact, research by McKinsey & Company identified that--compared to their respective national industry medians--companies in the top quartile for racial and ethnic diversity are 35% more likely to have higher financial returns.
Topics of discussion will include:
- How to source talent from diverse institutions
- Creating an effective employee referral process
- How to evaluate your company's recruiters and recruitment prices
- Implementing inclusion strategies during the interview process
