Recognizing implicit bias in the workplace
The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Inc. and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber have formed a new monthly series: Creating a Culture of Inclusion. The partnership is aimed at creating a stronger dialogue and engagement of the Oklahoma City business community around issues of social justice and anti-racism.
Second session to focus on recognizing how implicit bias affects the workplace
At the Nov. 16 session, attendees will learn to reflect on how unconscious bias is rooted in our personal stories and how businesses can strategize to minimize the effects of those biases from attracting potential employees to the hiring process itself.
The discussion will be led by Silvia Siqueira, diversity and inclusion officer at Hilti North America. Silvia is a strategic and global leader with more than 20 years of experience working with new environments, inclusion challenges and different cultures. A 2019 Diversity Business Leader Award recipient from the Dallas Business Journal, she is responsible for developing and leading the North American organization's overall diversity and inclusion strategy in alignment with her company's global goals.
Tickets
Individual tickets are $25 for Chamber and Urban League members or $40 for nonmembers to each session.
