New this year, the 2020 State of the Economy will be in a virtual format that will allow participants to view the event from the convenience of their home or work.
Attendees hear directly from expert economists on trends in the local and national economy. The event includes a panel of local economists and a featured keynote presentation from a national economist on issues impacting the global economy.

Marci Rossell is a world-renowned economist and financial expert who electrifies audiences nationwide, speaking candidly on the nexus of economics, politics, culture, and the media.
At State of the Economy, Rossell will discuss the impact of seismic surprises. In this talk, Rossell separates fact from fiction the potential impact businesses can expect from coronavirus (COVID-19). She analyzes past events (think SARS and MERS epidemics) to predict the economic effects, such as postponed spending and a decreased value of retirement savings.
