Community Partners to host “Meet Oklahoma” at SXSW

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 2, 2015) – The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, along with a group of community organizations, are combining efforts to give an estimated 65,000 South by Southwest attendees an opportunity to “Meet Oklahoma” at the conference trade show on March 15-18 in Austin, Texas.

The Meet Oklahoma group will be at Booth 429 at the Austin Convention Center. In addition to the tradeshow booth, an “Okie Meet-Up Reception” is planned for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 16, at Ranch 616, 616 Nueces St., Austin to foster networking for all who have Oklahoma connections. “We have been involved with SXSW for five years,” said Josh O’Brien, Director of Entrepreneurial Development for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. “We are proud to support and promote the Oklahoma entrepreneurs who work in film, music and interactive at this amazing event.”

O’Brien noted a presence at SXSW will allow partners to continue to promote Oklahoma on an international stage.

“Entrepreneurism and creativity is part of the very fabric of our state,” he said. “We want to welcome anyone who may be attending SXSW to stop by our booth and see what Oklahoma has to offer.”

Partners include the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, Tulsa Convention & Visitors Bureau, Oklahoma Business Roundtable, Dunlap Codding, Oklahoma Film + Music and Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau.
