The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber applauds Gov. Mary Fallin for signing Senate Bill 1023 into law on April 14. SB 1023 prevents local governments from mandating paid vacation days, paid sick leave days or a minimum wage different than that imposed by state law.
“Allowing cities to mandate different leave and wage regulations would be a regulatory burden and hardship on every small business in the state,” said Roy H. Williams, president and CEO of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. “When Gov. Fallin signed this bill into law, she ensured a level playing field for businesses statewide. We thank her for protecting the small businesses in Oklahoma.”
