"A thriving entertainment district, a fresh food scene, and plentiful outdoor activities prove that Oklahoma is more than just OK. But before we make a break for the Sooner State’s capital, we’d like to know a bit more about you. ... "
So begins a feature on Oklahoma City in "Southwest: The Magazine" which posted online Dec. 1. In the print version, the 11-page spread on Oklahoma City begins on page 94 of the in-flight magazine that will be distributed on all of Southwest Airlines' planes.
The story then features Oklahoma City ideas for the outdoor adventurer, foodie, beer lover, history buff, urban explorer and more. It also mentions "uniquely OKC" spots like the National Cowboy Western & Heritage Museum, the Myriad Botanical Gardens, the Oklahoma City Zoo and even Devon Tower's Vast restaurant -- fine dining more than 700 feet up. Readers also can learn a little about Oklahoma City's business climate and what led to its growth.
The magazine has a circulation of nearly 450,000 and is distributed to all Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways passengers in flight. Nearly 3.5 million travelers have the opportunity to read each issue.
