The retail outlook for Oklahoma City continues to be strong.
Representatives from the Chamber, the City of Oklahoma City and other community development organizations scheduled 26 meetings with development companies, retailers and brokers last month during the International Council of Shopping Centers' global retail real estate convention (RECON) in Las Vegas. The Chamber leads a delegation each year to tout the benefits of locating in the growing economic market of Oklahoma City and recruit retailers, real estate brokers, developers, hoteliers and more. The 26 meetings with people interested in Oklahoma City helped serve that purpose and boost the city's retail scene.
The ICSC visit came soon after announcements that the Sweden-based multinational clothing retailer H&M is opening its first Oklahoma location at Quail Springs Mall and that Vera Bradley and The North Face have new stores at the Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City.
Also, TopGolf and Cabela's are finishing construction at their Chisholm Creek sites near Western and Memorial, with planned openings this month for TopGolf and this fall for Cabela's. Indoor skydiving is coming sometime next week to the same development with iFLY, the Austin-based skydiving company. And now Chisholm Creek likely will offer even more for visitors -- a new Republic Gastropub and a new multifamily housing development, The Oklahoman reported this week.
Be sure to keep up with the latest retail developments at the Chamber's retail website, www.okcretail.com, and share the site with those who would be interested in exploring all there is to know about the city's retail scene.
