The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – OG&E, ONG, Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) and Midwest Masonic Lodge in partnership with The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma will host the Home Energy Aid Pancake Breakfast on Thursday, July 23 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Salvation Army Chesapeake Energy Center of Hope at 1001 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
Tickets are $5 per person for a generous stack of pancakes along with bacon, orange juice and coffee. Tickets may be purchased in advance at The Salvation Army or on the event date with cash or credit card.
The event is part of a month-long effort to raise funds for energy assistance programs, such as OG&E’s Lend-A-Hand, ONG’s Share the Warmth and PSO’s Light-A-Life.
Utility bills are an on-going challenge for seniors, persons with disabilities and families on low and fixed incomes. To help assist those in need, utility customers are encouraged to support energy assistance programs year round. The Salvation Army receives between hundreds to thousands of requests for assistance with utility bills annually depending on the location and the number increases as temperatures swing between extreme highs and lows.
All funds raised at the event stay in Oklahoma County.
If someone wishes to support the utility assistance program but cannot attend the breakfast, a donation marked “Home Energy Aid” may be sent to The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Area Command, 1001 N. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, OK 73107 or designate a donation on their utility bill. For more information, call The Salvation Army at 405-246-1100.
