FORT WORTH, Texas – September 15, 2015 – Freese and Nichols, Inc. has hired Jennifer Wasinger as an account director in the firm’s Oklahoma City, Oklahoma office. In this role, Wasinger will leverage the relationships she established during her distinguished career as an infrastructure finance professional to expand the firm’s footprint throughout the state.
“The depth of knowledge in infrastructure financing that Jennifer brings to Freese and Nichols is truly impressive,” said Trish Hatley, Freese and Nichols vice president and firm principal. “I’ve had the privilege to work directly with Jennifer over the years, and I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”
Wasinger’s position with Freese and Nichols builds on her notable career with various state agencies. She recently served as assistant chief for the Financial Assistance Division of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB), where she was responsible for daily oversight of the agency’s five water and wastewater infrastructure financing programs. Wasinger also spent nearly a decade with the Office of the Secretary of Environment for the State of Oklahoma. During this time, Wasinger ensured that federal funds were successfully distributed and implemented in accordance with the program guidelines, and she interacted with inter-agency groups, businesses and nonprofit organizations. In both roles, Wasinger served as a liaison to the Environmental Protection Agency. Wasinger began her career with the Oklahoma Conservation Commission, first as water quality specialist and then as the Wetlands Program Manager.
Wasinger earned her master’s degree in environmental science from Oklahoma State University and her bachelor’s degree in general studies in environmental science from the University of Kansas. She is a member of EPA’s Environmental Financial Advisory Board and recently served as a board member for the Council of Infrastructure Financing Authorities. Wasinger is also a past president for Keep Oklahoma Beautiful and for the Oklahoma Clean Lakes and Watershed Association.
In addition to her professional association involvement, Wasinger is active in her community. She participates with ScienceFest Oklahoma, a science education event for thousands of 4th and 5th grade students. Wasinger also volunteers as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army during the holiday season, and is a former board member for St. John’s Episcopal School.
