Read about how business fared at the Legislature in this year’s 2015 legislative report wrap-up.
The Chamber succeeded in achieving its legislative priorities during a tough budget year in which the state faced an unexpected $611 million shortfall. These accomplishments included protecting key economic development incentive programs from elimination; creating a fair and data-driven incentive evaluation process; stopping overly broad gun legislation that would have led to high-economic impact events leaving the state; passing legislation to fund the completion of the American Indian Cultural Center; ensuring adequate funding for important state programs; and protecting Oklahoma’s thriving bioscience industry from harmful legislation.
