National Reining Horse Association celebrates 50 years in OKC, the world's horse show capital

Tuesday, November 17, 2015

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) kicked off its 50th anniversary celebration last month as it moved into its new international headquarters in Oklahoma City. The association soon will host its 50th running of the NRHA futurity from Nov. 26 to Dec. 5.

Read the November issue of The POINT! to read more about the new headquarters at the State Fair Park and about the organization itself and see a video of the NRHA in action.

There's a reason Oklahoma City is known as the "horse show capital of the world": It is home to more national and international equine championship events than any other city in the world. Just see the list of 2015 Oklahoma City horse shows to see what events you can attend between now and the end of the year (hint: they involve quarter horses, reining horses and barrel racing) and get an idea of what you can see next year.

In addition to learning more about the national headquarters of the NRHA, read The POINT to learn more about all kinds of Chamber happenings, including events, grand openings and an important discussion about the city's newly designated innovation district.
