Feed the Children, a leading anti-hunger organization with its corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City, partnered with MidFirst Bank to provide a unique shopping experience for representatives from nearly 200 Oklahoma school districts during the grand re-opening of its Teacher Store Sat., Oct. 3. Observing safe social distancing practices, a limited number of representatives from the participating school districts shopped under a large, open-air tent for free school supplies that will help make the school year a little easier. This Saturday event was especially helpful for teachers in rural communities who are unable to shop during the week. With equipment regularly sanitized throughout the event, patrons were able to shop safely while wearing masks and accessing the hand sanitizer stations placed throughout the tent.

Feed the Children tops the list of the nation’s largest independent food banks with revenue of $288 million in the first of what is expected to be an annual ranking by Food Bank News. The data is for Fiscal Year 2019.

Feed the Children in Oklahoma City, Okla., is the only food bank on the Top 10 list to operate in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia. It also serves people in 10 countries.
