ABOUT THE CHAMBER:
The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber is the voice of business and the visionary organization in Oklahoma City. With over 4,000 member organizations, the Chamber strives to make Greater Oklahoma City one of America's most desirable places to live, work, play and visit. Chamber priorities include economic development, legislative action, community improvement efforts and involvement opportunities for local businesses.
Director of Convention Services - Director is responsible for all areas of servicing including welcome programs, attendance builders, pre-convention promotional trips, planning and arrangements, convention housing and providing collateral materials. Serves as meeting manager/coordinator for Fam trips, site visits and other events as needed. Bachelor's degree -- Hospitality or Destination Management preferred. CMP designation a plus. Meeting and convention planning experience. Above average computer skills -- data management experience preferred.
Events Assistant - Assistant provides customer service to chamber members, event sponsors and attendees and supports the event managers with event planning and registration. College degree in communications related field preferred. Effective communication and organizational skills. Must be able to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously and with a wide variety of people. Database experience preferred.
Public Relations Coordinator - Coordinator is responsible for supporting public relations programs to promote Oklahoma City to national and international audiences. Activities include content marketing programs, publication development and national media relations. 4-year degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field. Minimum two years experience in related field. Ability to write in journalistic style. Knowledge of AP style required.
Social Media Manager - Social media manager supports the efforts to promote Oklahoma City as a visitor and convention destination by managing the strategy, execution and community-building efforts of social media for the Bureau. 4-year degree in marketing, communications or related field - social media emphasis preferred. Minimum three years' related experience including managing the social media presence for a brand or organization. Experience in social media analytics, reporting, tracking and metrics analysis preferred. Include two samples of social media campaigns and salary requirement.
Director of Business Development (Economic Development) - Director works to encourage the creation of new jobs and capital investment to improve the overall economy of Central Oklahoma. Oversees the division's business development activities (recruitment and project management) and manages related staff and budget. Degree in relevant field including economic development, business, marketing or economics. Graduate of Economic Development Institute, eight years of proven professional experience. Proven ability to close deals through solid sales and project management is critical.
Internships -- All internships will be part time and for credit; hours are negotiable. Parking will be provided.
All positions require completion of your junior year in college, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), have excellent written and oral communication skills and working toward a degree in a field related to the internship selected.
