Manager of Business Retention and Expansion

The Manager of Business Retention and Expansion is responsible for working within a team to proactively engage with and serve existing employers to encourage both organic business expansion (job growth and capital investment) and active involvement with the Chamber’s talent agenda.  The Manager is responsible for assisting employers by connecting these companies with various resources, information and/or partners who can provide needed solutions or support.  The primary goal is to work with Oklahoma City area companies to help them stay and expand in the area. 

Successful candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, and/or meaningful experience in related sales, recruitment, and/or economic development activities.  
  • Three or more years’ experience in relevant business setting, economic development organization, or related field. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, presentation, and meeting management skills.
  • Ability to engage companies both large and small and gain access to senior level executives and present yourself in a professional knowledgeable manner. 
  • Sound judgment and mature proactive attitude required with proven ability to close deals through solid sales and project management. 
  • Must be detail oriented plus possess good organizational and time management skills as this is a deadline driven position in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and within a defined organizational structure. Flexible hours and travel required.   
  • Position requires a positive and professional image/demeanor.
