This tool from C2ER (the Council for Community and Economic Research) compiles pricing information on basket of goods from cities throughout the country and is updated on a quarterly basis. Input your annual income after taxes in the box, then select the city from which you are moving. The results will show your comparable “buying power” in both cities based on real-world average costs.
