Truck Transportation

Oklahoma City serves as the hub of the transcontinental highway network. More than 12,000 miles of state highways, excellent turnpikes, and the interstate system provide a vital link for state communities to all major U.S. markets. There are about 15,000 common and/or contract motor freight carriers operating in the state, providing fast and efficient truck transportation to all points on the North American continent. The Economic Development Division of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce would be more than willing to provide a list containing the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of motor freight carriers located in the Oklahoma City area.

Rail Transportation

Two major lines provide most of the rail transportation in the Oklahoma City MSA: Union Pacific, and Burlington Northern & Santa Fe. The two major lines, together with short lines offering regional service, have more than 4,000 miles of track and provide a statewide railroad network connecting Oklahoma communities with other U.S. cities, markets, and ports.
