The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM) is one of America's premier math and science high schools. In the fourteen years since OSSM has been open, the school has produced 225 National Merit Scholars, and students have been offered more than $55 million in scholarships. The OSSM Classes of 1998 and 2000 achieved the highest ACT composite scores of any high school in the United States. OSSM has also been cited as one of "America's Best Schools" (Redbook magazine) and deemed "the most rigorous academic program of its kind in the nation" by Dr. Julian Stanley of Johns Hopkins, a nationally known expert in the field of gifted education.
OSSM is located on a 32-acre site in Oklahoma City adjacent to the libraries and research resources of the Oklahoma Health Center. A tuition-free, residential high school for juniors and seniors with exceptional ability, OSSM currently has enrolled 135 students. Students from all of Oklahoma's 77 counties have been selected to attend OSSM. Ultimately, enrollment will be 300.
The school is in the midst of a $12 million building program. Additions include a state-of-the-art science and discovery center, a library and a new dormitory. Click here to visit OSSM online.
