Sign up to attend important Chamber Forum on criminal justice reform on Wednesday

Join criminal justice experts and community leaders to discuss many of the broader issues facing the Oklahoma County jail, criminal justice systems and the area’s prison population at the upcoming Chamber Forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at The Skirvin Hilton Hotel, 1 Park Ave. The discussion will include ideas for solutions and tactics that our community can use to address the jail facility, sentencing reform, care for the mentally ill and more.

Clayton I. Bennett, Dorchester Capital, vice chair of strategic planning, will outline the Chamber’s effort regarding this important issue, provide examples of reform in other communities and potential related benefits for Oklahoma County and present next steps for achieving success.

Panelists are: Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater; former state House Speaker Kris Steele, now executive director of The Education and Employment Ministry (TEEM); Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel; and Terri White, commissioner for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
