Commemorative Ornament Celebrates MAPS 20th Anniversary

The MAPS 20th Anniversary Steering Committee revealed a commemorative holiday ornament celebrating the original MAPS program at a news conference on Nov 1. MAPS, which was approved by voters on Dec. 14, 1993, used more than $360 million from a five-year, one-cent sales tax revenue to build or renovate nine community facilities.

20th Anniversary of TRDC Brings Record-Breaking Totals

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber wrapped up its 20th Total Resource Development Campaign (TRDC) on Aug. 14 by raising a record-total of $3,049,257 during the 12-week campaign. Tornado Business Relief Fund Announced

As Oklahoma City area communities move forward from the tornadoes, the Moore Chamber of Commerce, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, South OKC Chamber of Commerce, and Norman Chamber of Commerce have joined together to create The Tornado Business Relief Fund to provide limited financial assistance to businesses experiencing economic hardship.

Back to Business Initiative Connects Tornado-Damaged Companies to Resources

The Greater Oklahoma City Back to Business Initiative launched in in order to support the businesses in Moore and south Oklahoma City damaged by recent tornados on May 20. The initiative, which is a partnership between the City of Oklahoma City, the City of Moore, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and the Moore Chamber of Commerce, will allow physically-damaged businesses to report their needs following the storm and get connected with resources to help them return to business.

Oklahoma Senate Approves Significant Overhaul to Workers' Compensation

The Oklahoma Senate passed SB 1062, landmark workers’ compensation reform legislation, by a vote of 35-12 today. The bill, which was approved by the House last week by a vote of 74-24, will change Oklahoma’s current adversarial system to an administrative system, a revision that is expected to produce approximately $250 million in annual savings for Oklahoma companies.
