Taking the Chair: First woman chair of the Chamber lays out priorities

To a casual observer, Oklahoma City seems to be doing pretty well as Rhonda Hooper assumes leadership of its chamber of commerce.

Hooper, the president and CEO of Jordan Advertising, is the first woman to lead the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber in its 128-year history.

Hooper agrees Oklahoma City has lots going for it these days.

The MAPS program, through each of its three initiatives, continues to pay economic dividends for the community, as does the Innovation District between downtown and the state Capitol.

While a pause in the state's oil and gas economy the past two years cooled ongoing construction within the community somewhat, projects still are getting built in downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods and in areas farther out in suburbia.
