Just in time for the holidays, Oklahoma City Community Foundation Trustees awarded $25,200 in grants to 54 churches that provide meals to homebound elderly through Mobile Meals of Oklahoma County, as well as a $2,500 grant to Edmond Mobile Meals. In addition to delivering warm meals to individuals in need, Mobile Meals volunteers also provide much needed companionship for many Oklahomans.

The Oklahoma Army National Guard announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Thlopthlocco Tribal Town of Okemah, Okla. The MOU deals primarily with issues encountered during new construction and renovation of Oklahoma Army National Guard properties.

On Saturday, Nov. 10th, officials from the Oklahoma Army National Guard said farewell to 39 members of Detachment 1, Company C, 2nd Battalion, 149th General Support Aviation (2-149th GSAB).

Wherever it has gone, eyes have been drawn to the curious brainchild of James R. Bede and Paul Griffin. The first BD–5, a propeller-driven model, wowed audiences as it flew through in the James Bond film Octopussy. The single-seater is still going strong and has a new mission. Lewis & Clark Performance, LLC based in Oklahoma City fly's the FLS Microjet in front of millions of Airshow fans all across the nation.

Some 270 Oklahoma Army National Guardsmen displayed one of the nation’s largest flags with the assistance of several cadets from OU’s ROTC program. When the fans saw the Soldiers and soon to be Soldiers with the flag, the crowd rose to its feet and responded with a deafening ovation.
