EDMOND, OK – Chili enthusiasts will gather with their best chili recipes for CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green’s 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off event sponsored by First Mortgage Company and American Eagle Title Group. The cook-off benefits Easter Seals Oklahoma and will take place on Sunday, November 17 from 4 – 6 p.m. at CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green in Edmond.

“Our goal for this event is to raise funds and awareness for Easter Seals Oklahoma and the amazing array of services they provide to our community,” said Krista Massad, broker for CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green. “CENTURY 21 has a long history of supporting Easter Seals organizations across the country and this event has become something our office looks forward to each year.”

Participation in the event is free. There are no entry fees for competing in the chili cook-off and attendees are allowed to sample from as many entrants as they like. Tickets may be purchased to vote for favorite chili, enter the prize drawing, and take part in other activities. Non-monetary awards will be given for spiciest, crowd favorite, judges’ favorite, and best booth theme.

"We are so honored to be the beneficiary of the Chili Cook-Off for the fifth year in a row,” said Paula Porter, Easter Seals Oklahoma president and CEO. “CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green has been such a huge supporter of ours and we consider them a part of our Easter Seals Oklahoma family."

The cook-off isn’t just about the chili. This family-friendly event incorporates a silent auction, cakewalk, prize drawing, and several activities for kids, including an inflatable moon bounce, face painting, and a pumpkin hunt for prizes. Instabus OKC Mobile Photo Booth and Roxy’s Ice Cream Social will also be on site while live music is performed by Edmond-based band Swatch Marbly.

Funds raised from the event are particularly critical this year as the Easter Seals Oklahoma building suffered severe flood damage on May 31st. As a result, the organization was forced to cancel their annual gala, which left them with an approximate $30,000 shortfall in their annual fundraising.

The 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off will take place on Sunday, November 17 from 4 – 6 p.m. CENTURY 21 Goodyear Green is located at 1220 S. Santa Fe Ave. in Edmond. Extra parking is available for participants and attendees at the Bank of Oklahoma just north of the event. The cook-off is free and open to the public. For more information on the cook-off, sponsorship opportunities, or how to enter your chili in the contest, please call (405) 359-7400.
