Celebrate the success of Metropolitan Area Projects (MAPS) at a city-wide celebration on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The floor of the Chesapeake Energy Arena will come alive with Thunder drummers, Thunder Girls, Rumble, live music, videos, food and drinks as the community celebrates Oklahoma City’s revival at the location of an original MAPS project.
This December marks the 20th anniversary of the passage of the original Metropolitan Area Projects (MAPS). Through a temporary one-cent sales tax, the citizens of Oklahoma City collected $309 million to fund nine quality of life projects that jump started the city's modern day renaissance.
The cost to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event is $30 per person and includes one drink ticket. Read more about MAPS and register to attend at www.okcchamber.com/celebratemaps.
MEDIA: Press passes to the event are available, and Mayors Cornett, Humphreys and Norick and other MAPS leaders will be on hand for interviews. Contact Kaylee McDaniel at email@example.com or 297-8971 to attend.
