OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 17, 2012 – The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber announced the results of its Total Resource Development Campaign (TRDC) on Aug. 14, with a record number of $2,884,781 raised during the 12 -week campaign. The 2012 campaign surpassed its fundraising goal by more than $200,000 and netted the highest grand total since the Chamber held the first TRDC in 1994.

Approximately 150 volunteers from more than 100 companies, led by TRDC Co-Chairs Rhonda Hooper, Jordan Advertising, and Dick Tanenbaum, Gardner Tanenbaum Holdings, promoted and secured marketing opportunities for area businesses. The campaign volunteers also recruited 177 new Chamber members.

“The accomplishments of the 2012 TRDC are a direct result of the dedicated volunteers who make up the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber,” said Hooper. “It’s a privilege to work with people who are so committed to the mission of the Chamber and the success of Oklahoma City.”

Sponsorships raised through TRDC allow the Chamber to produce quality events and publications for member companies, and help support the Chamber’s work in economic development, government relations, education/workforce development, community development and more.

“Since it was founded, the Chamber has always been a driving force in the development of Oklahoma City, and the amount we raised this year is evidence that the business community sees those positive benefits,” Tanenbaum said. “TRDC makes it possible for the Chamber to invest in the economic development of the region. I am excited to see what new heights the 20th year of the campaign has in store for us, as Rhonda and I return for our third year as leaders of this campaign.”

During the campaign, volunteers from Chamber-member businesses work with their fellow members to identify opportunities to market their businesses through a variety of Chamber events and publications.  They also work in the business community to bring new members to the organization.  The 2012 campaign marked the 19th year for TRDC.
