Greater OKC Chamber Task Force announces recommendations for reform of Oklahoma Countyís criminal justice system

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s Criminal Justice Task Force released a series of recommendations today designed to ease overcrowding conditions at the Oklahoma County Jail and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system. The recommendations follow a year-long assessment of the various processes that affect the jail population, the decisions that drive these processes, and the costs associated with these decisions.

The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber's Board of Directors recently voted to adopt positions on four Oklahoma State Questions. The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber is opposed to State Question 779, which would permanently increase the state sales tax rate by 1 percent to generate $615 million a year for a one-time teacher pay raise, higher education, grants,
